Over five years ago, I faced the hardest truth of my life when I was held legally accountable for my addiction. It was a humbling moment, but it also opened the door to real change. With support and treatment, I found recovery — and it gave me the chance to rebuild.
Today, I’m a better husband, a better father, and a stronger community leader because of that journey. In the weeks ahead, I’ll share more about my story — how accountability gave me a second chance, and how leaving shame behind has allowed me to step forward so others can see that recovery is possible.
Addiction doesn’t have to be the end of the story. We need leaders who have walked in the shoes of everyday people, who understand struggle firsthand, and who will fight to make sure no one is left behind.
I am grateful to my Georgia for standing by my side through thick and thin.
